March 2018 will mark 20 years since the EBMT General Assembly first approved the adoption of the Standards and the 44th Annual Meeting in Lisbon will be the stage on which to celebrate this achievement.

On Sunday 18 March, John Snowden will present a dedicated talk during the Opening Ceremony and a cake will be shared at the social event.

On Monday, a Special Session will feature a panel discussion with key JACIE leaders from the past 20 years sharing a public conversation on JACIE: Past, Present and Future. Experts from FACT, WBMT and ISCT will also join the panel bringing different points of view to the dicussion. The session is open to everyone to join, promises to be very interesting and will take place in Auditorium VI.
The panellists include Jane Apperley, Gunnar Kvalheim, Christian Chabannon, John Snowden. Alessandro Rambaldi, Alvaro Urbano-Ispizua, Ineke Slaper, Phyllis Warkentin (FACT), Jeff Szer (WBMT), Fermín Sánchez-Guijo (ISCT) and Riccardo Saccardi.

The 20th anniversary also coincides with the release of the 7th edition of the FACT-JACIE International Standards and the EBMT will also be giving away commemorative coffee mugs.

Finally, in the coming weeks, the JACIE website will be incorporated into the new-look EBMT website. You can already find content at www.ebmt.org/jacie-accreditation.

Watch out for other initiatives associated with the 20th anniversary over the coming 12 months.
