Italian competent authorities endorse JACIE accreditation

posted 29 May 2012, 07:24 by Eoin McGrath   [ updated 9 Jul 2015, 01:17 ]
In a recent announcement, the Centro Nazionale de Trapianti (CNT) and the Centro Nazionale Sangue (CNS), the Italian competent authorities for cells and blood respectively, in collaboration with the Gruppo Italiano per il Trapianto di Midollo Osseo (GITMO)/Italian Group for Bone Marrow Transplantation, officially endorsed JACIE accreditation for bone marrow transplant programmes.
Effective from January 2013, centres who achieve JACIE accreditation will be recognised as compliant with the requirements of the European Directives on Tissues and Cells as transposed into Italian law. Accreditation remains voluntary and centres may choose to undergo an inspection by the respective competent authorities instead of by JACIE.

The letter below (in Italian) was sent to all Italian centres on 29 May 2012.
