JACIE is pleased to announce a new educational initiative. In order to assist centres that are taking their first steps towards accreditation, JACIE staff will be available to visit the transplant centre and provide information and instruction directly to the transplant team.
As part of the pilot phase of this programme, in the first quarter of 2012, two (2) centres will be able to request a visit to their centre by experienced and knowledgeable JACIE staff to receive instruction in the Standards, the accreditation process and to discuss their specific circumstances and receive orientation and guidance.

Scope of the visit
JACIE Staff can help the centre to analyse their situation with regard to the Standards, suggest solutions based on experience and highlight potential problems that need to be addressed.

The visit includes:
  • Presentation of the JACIE process and standards
  • Discussion of the transplant programme and specific aspects
  • One-to-one discussion with JACIE staff in situ
  • Help to identify potential issues, non-conformities and possible solutions
The visit does not include
  • An exhaustive examination of practices, systems and procedures based on the standards (“simulated/mock inspection”)
  • Expert consultancy/training on general quality management nor medical/laboratory technical issues
  • Guarantee of future accreditation
Benefits for the centre
  • Provide information adapted to the centre's needs
  • Quickly clarify unclear areas of the process and standards
  • Perform a preliminary assessment of the centre's activities and how they fit with the standards
  • Highlight what actions might be needed to approach compliance
  • Establish a good working relationship with the JACIE Office staff
  • Educate a wide number of team members in one day
Who can participate?
The centre can involve as many members of their team as they wish in the visit.

Costs
Costs will be covered by JACIE.
