The review process to produce the 6th edition of the FACT-JACIE Standards commenced in mid-June 2013 when JACIE and FACT held a kick-off meeting in London for the Committee chairs and co-chairs.

Note: The introduction of the 6th edition of the FACT-JACIE Standards in 2015 will impose certain deadlines. See below.

Key dates

Applications: Centres that are planning to apply in 2014 or 2015 should pay attention to the following deadlines:

01/03/2015
  • The 6th edition of the FACT-JACIE Cellular Therapy Standards, Accreditation Manual, Checklist and other associated documents will be published.
  • Final date for sending applications based on the 5th edition of the FACT-JACIE Standards. All applications after this date must be made under the 6th edition.
31/05/2015
  • Final date to submit the complete pre-audit documentation under the 5th edition. Any centre that submits all or part of pre-audit documentation after 31/05/2015 will have to restart the application process under the 6th edition of the Standards and submit a new application
  • The new edition of the Standards becomes effective. Centres already accredited under the 5th edition will not have their accreditation affected. However, all centres are required to adapt their processes and systems to the requirements of the 6th edition.

Public consultation closure: 24 July 2014

Committees

As in the 5th edition, JACIE and FACT are equally represented on all of the committees. Each committee has a FACT and JACIE co-chair and the JACIE Medical Director, John Snowden, forms a tandem with his FACT counterpart, Phyllis Warkentin (Omaha, USA), in leading the process under the guidance of Joseph Schwartz (New York, USA).

See below for the JACIE committee co-chairs and members. More information on the Committee can be found at www.factwebsite.org.
